I think it is a path we've already been down, but maybe time to have another crack at the ears of whoever makes those decisions, and I honestly dont know how much that decision rests with UK, and how much influence is held by the Scalextric distributor for Australia, who by all accounts are a very strong company doing a very good job in their market.They ARE a great fun car to race on wood or plastic, something in their horrid proportions just seems to work well.
Let alone that they are 'Our Nascar' in a sense, in that they are our No.1 racing class down-under, using what LOOKS LIKE the family sedan that ma and pa drive to work.I've never been sure whether it is licencing issues that limit the selling of the liveried cars into the USA, or perception of interest, or if it is that the Australian Distributor perhaps owns/pays for the moulds.Alan, you'd have a better idea of the principles involved than any of us. Maybe Scaley USA can take the bull by the horns for your market in some way, because I keep seeing guys on the forum who, like Bill, would love to have them readily available.If it's any consolation Bill, I even suffer because I either have to import from Australia, or buy from my LHS at 70% higher than the Australian prices. $95 - $105 per car compared to $55 for a basic Scalextric car such as a mini. Now THAT hurts. Nascar and ScaleyI suspect that Scaley didn't want to get stuck with another 'lame duck' car like the #97 Sharpie Ford Taurus. That car was 'toast' before the Scaley version hit the hobby stores.
The other 3 have pretty much remained the same since intro.Even McMurray who inheirited that 'ride' was switched to the #26 with different livery.
